Wow! You are talking directly to ME! We are "helping" raise granddaughters 2 and 4 yrs. Old. No easy fete! I am bound and determined to keep quilting as time allows. I am keeping my projects as simple as possible. I know they are my priority, meaning granddaughters. I am trying hard to enjoy the quilting time I do have, and not be too hard on myself. Thank you for gentle reminder. Love your videos!

Thanks, Amy! It took me several years to stop comparing my quilts to the ones made by others in my quilt group who have long-arm machines, whereas I "only" straight-line quilt on my domestic machine. What finally turned the corner for me was realizing that I was trying to equate apples and oranges - that and realizing that I actually love my "apple" method & results. Plus I do trust the thankful and gracious comments made by people gifted with my quilts, who resoundingly find them amazing and beautiful.

Thank you! I needed to hear this video. I come home so tired from a full time caregiver job for a 96 year old Dementia lady and I don’t have the energy or time to sew like I was. When I sew, I feel like it’s not very good or fancy like some I see online but it’s all I have time for at the moment.

I have been known to take a project apart, re-cut the pieces, and use the pieces in other quilt projects. Yes. I have fallen out of love with a quilt pattern, before I finished the quilt. I usually don't fall in love with that pattern ever again.

Awesome advice from an equally Awesome person. So much relates to me. It will take practice to follow this advice but it all makes sense and makes for a less stressful quilting. Thanks so much

I always get it done and if someone doesn’t like it too bad, even if I don’t like it I’ll finish it.quilts are mostly one of a kind .uniqueness is part of the quilt …. Love you words of encouragement thank you ….

Thank you for sharing this video hits home for me especially # 1 I criticized my own work in my quilts I judge my work I am hard on myself and I shouldn't because I have entered my quilts in different events and won ribbons but I still don't think I am good enough but I will say girl your quilt is beautiful for now on.

Such wisdom! Thanks so much for the reminders. Trusting in my instincts is my super power.

I totally agree! The one thing that I'm going to encourage my quilt group to do is to stop criticizing their own work and take a compliment! We all work very hard on our quilts and even if it's an easy pattern it's still took a lot of time and effort.

One of the ways that our group helps one another is when we clean out our sewing drawer, shelf, or even room, and we have good stuff that needs to leave, our guild once a month has a free table. You can come and leave treasures that others will want. Helps you and help someone else!

Thank you so much Amy! I look forward to your channel each time you post!
