We're back with another episode of Great Moments in Fighting Game History!! Today we're covering a match in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 (UMvC3) between the 2012 Evo winner Filipino Champ and the 2015 Evo champ KaneBlueRiver (KBR). There's a lot of ups and downs throughout this first to 15 money match, so I hope you enjoy the video!

I’ve never heard a commentator say “this guy sucks and this is justice” 🤣

FC: If you lose, nobody will remember you.
KBR: Sure, but when you lose nobody will let you forget it.

Yipes is so funny in the background. Every time KBR gets a hit he pops off! "OOH! ROCKS! Justice! This is justice!" he's just completely abandoned all neutrality. Love it.

The most insulting thing you can do to a competitor who won't shake after beating you is offer them your hand. Whether they shake it or not, it's a fatal blow to the ego. Beautiful.

KBR mind gamed him in real life, lets him style and have fun all through that first to 15 challenge, then tests out how he would really beat him and how he would try to stop KBR from winning. Grand finals time and he flips over his trap card and takes him to the cleaners. Absolute genius, not every win happens just in the game.

I'm all amped up after watching this. The fact that people donated so KBR could travel to compete and he ends up winning through losers bracket. After all that disrespect in the exhibition match too. IMO that's what gave KBR the edge in the end; he got to study his opponent and sleep on it. Great video!

"I fight people who are really smart."

to agree to the grudge match BEFORE the tourney to allow KBR to download him for 15+ rounds****

You could tell KRB is a good dude by how his friends were hugging him.

Little fun fact, I went to Kane's stream on Twitch and asked him about mindset fighting Fchamp in a Ft15 (He was playing Dbfz crazy) He told me

"I am from a poor background and I don't get to travel alot, I didn't really care about Fchamp I cared about learning the match up and winning"

That 1st to 15 was the beginning of F-Champs demise. That gave Kane the information he needed to beat him. I'm confident that Kane let F-Champ win that set so he wouldn't change his game plan.

KBR used this set to download Fchamp. He likely wasn't even going all out.

And he was using three extremely slow characters vs a top tier team. It was so phenomenal watching this live.

It’s wholesome how everyone hugs him at the end you tell from his body language he is not used to that type of love 👍💪

I can’t stand players that talk that much during sets, I love that he got his L to take home. Thank you for this series. My favorite series!!!

He left out the most important part at the end where Champ actually apologized to KBR after the match. Both guys ended in good terms.
