In Finland we call this kind of comparison: 370€ versus 799 €

The 5800X3D is so impressive when you consider the power draw is at least like 30% lower than the 13900K, and these results are with DDR4 vs DDR5, too

Crazy how close they are, and the 5800x3D uses so much less power. Can't wait to see the Ryzen 7000 x3D models and what they can do!

$399 for A 5800X 3D
$619 for a 13900K
For the tiny difference in fps in all 3 categories, I'd save $ and get a 5800X 3D.

Pretty nice performance considering the price, power draw, actual core count, RAM etc.

in microsoft flight simulator on 5800x3d CPU frequency monitoring freezes, this sometimes happens, in fact, the frequency is about 4.4-4.5 ghz

Finally Cyberpunk CPU test with RT enabled. Thank you! I just bought 3D to replace my 2700X.

5800x3D is still great for the 4090, because it's pointless to buy a 4090 unless you're gaming @4k and nothing less than 4K and at this resolution both systems will be GPU bound.

Very interesting to see that it's stronger in Microsoft Flight Simulator. Also the 5800X3D will age like fine wine when other studios realizes how strong their "3D-cache" approach works on current/next-gen titles. Do take in mind that it performs this well with DDR4-memories which is insane (and much cheaper).

It will be standing strong with its never siblings in 7***X3D and is definitely a strong buy right now, I just ordered mine!

Ryzen 7 5800x3d in some games is a small bottleneck around 5-8% for the RTX 4090, but when it is similar ( the GPU usage), then the fps is identical, for example in Death Stranding game

there's a point where once you reach it, going for more is a huge waste. 144hz vs 265hz monitor we can barely notice the difference even side by side. going high to ultra you need to stick your eyes on your screen to notice the tiny extras. be moderate then you'll experience the true happiness.

not sure why people are debating so much the answer here is very simple - if you just want to game then 5800x3D is the best option. also i9 and ryzen 9 are actually production level CPUs no gamer uses them apart from competitive people.

Most time the 13900k is infront of the 5800X3D, but also need a lot of more power for that - between 30 and 50 Watt.
So the 5800x3d is overall the better CPU, when you check the price and power to the fps.

Considering the price difference, it's not worth the extra $250 in my opinion. Just throw a lower tier card in the mix, say the 3090 or 3090ti, and the gap is essentially closed. Overall value still sits within the AM4 platform and the 5800X3D. Similar performance in certain games, while losing out in others. If it wins in the games you mainly play, then it's the better choice.

Even if new ryzen 7000 CPUs kind of suck compared to raptor lake CPUs, there’s still a good midrange proposition for the 5800x3d, a cheap AM4 motherboard, and a set of decent ddr4 which could actually beat the 13400f in price/perf

NOBODY? That power draw from GPU when the smoke in CS hits... That is insane!!!

Also, I have been a computer technician in hardware and software for over 30 years. Somewhere around 35 years now? Anyways I have to squash a few misconceptions some people have.

I know it is the era of enthusiasts and Youtube and Google University. But that does not make someone a master. It makes them a hobbies or enthusiast.

If you are gaming at 4K and you are hitting the ceiling with your CPU usage, your graphics card is throttling it's performance. This does not mean your CPU is bottlenecking. It means that the CPU has lowered its function as it detects the graphics card cannot keep up with it. *THAT* is why the CPU reaches high usage %. At 4K the CPU is one of the least important components and it boils down to drawing textures, blooming in distant objects, upscaling and upsampling objects and LoD. Effects and particles are calculated and configured acxording to the GPU.

r7 5800x3d uses am4 socket and ddr4 ram and results are almost same🔥🔥
