My brother is older than me and everyone thinks I am older because my beard is mostly grey and white

Picking a beard style that suits your face and head shape is 90% of looking good in a beard! Thank you for pointing that out.

I'm 52. I have got pretty long beard. Greyish. It makes me looking 10 years older. I couldn't care less about looking younger. I feel liberated. So it stays.

Some men just want to look older to look wiser by growing beard

I can recommend Just For Men Control GX Beard Wash. It helps you start by adding colour to the tiny transparent hairs in your beard and it keeps the greys toned down. I'm 46 and still have grey in my beard but its like a sprinkle of salt with the pepper which is what I want.

I’ve been using shampoo on my face and beard for decades. My face and beard are very healthy.

At age 60 and counting - I still have a "baby face" so wearing a goatee is correct. No more United States Navy shaves.

I have no problem looking older, being cleaned shaved for most of my 20s and 30s I looked way too young for my age. When I started growing my beard I went to a barber to maintain it. Planning going twice a month for beard maintenance.

I was running a beard for several years partly out of laziness and partly out of rebellion against having to shave when I was in the Army. I recently started going back to being clean shaven and I think it looks a lot better.

I had a ‘goatee’ until I was about about 66yrs. Old.
I now let it grow, but now use use my ‘pet trimmer’ which I share with my dog together with scissors to trim my beard and his.

I did consult a barder. I had a barber trim my beard once just so I could see what a good neck and cheek line looks like.

I run the same clippers with no guard over my head and face every 2-3 weeks. What I noticed was that, if I do the face first and leave the hair up top, I drop back 15 years. I looked like my high school ID photo. Sent a picture of it to my mother for a laugh.

I also tried the reverse and did the buzzcut before the face trim. It's not good.

I've used the razor from Brio for a few years now. Great for bear trimming and as a bald guy its great for getting the head too

So I've been told. 45, my beard is almost completely white. A few stubborn blacks hanging in there... I used to have such a lovely multicoloured beard. Red, brown, black... the reds were the first to turn traitor, followed by the browns. I've repeatedly been told I'd look so much younger if I shaved (hardly any gray traitors on my head... yet) but I'm thinking "Why should I try to hide that I'm getting older? That's nothing to be ashamed of."

When I'm middle-aged, why shouldn't I accept that I look my age?

Youthness is a value for women. For men, the thing is strength, power and self-control.

As long as a man looks healthy and groomed, it's perfectly fine regardless the (apparent) age, IMO. Same to women, to some extent.

I'm 46 and this year the first time in my life I have my own beard grow. So I'm in point of my life where I don't care if I'll look older than my actual age just because having beard. I don't care with other perception and opinion regarding how old I look like now.
