First and foremost I wanna thank any and all military personnel who have sacrificed their own lives for us to enjoy ours! Ben, your grandpa must have been a great man! Escaping POW camps and still wanting to go back and fight for the country and also escaping from a camp himself makes him a hero in my eyes! God bless!

When I worked for aPD, I was in the patrol division but always got tasked with fixing the equipment in the units. In my experience, impalas always have the most trouble. Well, we only had one, but it was the most troublesome. If you’d turn the lights on, the radar, laptop, air conditioner, and I forget what else would shut off. The spotlight started arcing out one shift. And it had no cage until I put one while I was off duty hanging out at the station. Up until that point, we only had one transport unit after the second was surplussed and sent to the state office (it was a university police department so we were a state agency) and they didn’t keep any of the equipment for me to put into the new unit that replaced it. Speaking of new units, we’d send the car to the shop with all the equipment we wanted in it, then they’d send it back “finished”, and I’d then get the stuff to actually work so it could go on the road. Sorry for the long comment, I guess I started rambling and reminiscing...or typing. Love the videos

I won't lie man, I teared up when you were talking about your grandpa. I was practically raised by mine. Also a world war 2 vet. Both of my parents worked so I spent every day before and after school along with all of my summers with my grandparents. He passed away in 2010 and I attribute a lot of who I am today to him. Ben, I thank both you and your grandfather for your service to our great country. I regret not serving in the military but I am training for the police academy so I guess I'll be serving in a different way!

My grandfather was in the Battle of the Bulge! He was also captured and escaped and was awarded the Silver Star because of his helping a few other POW's escape at the same time. - Thank you for your story!
