Yay thanks for joining in again, you’re such a supportive advocate for #AusLit 💕📚 Cool to see you’re re-reading Anne Summers and keen to hear how you find it second time round. Also super excited to see The Yield 🙏

I will participate in this “#Aussie “readathon”. I haven’t read Jane Harper yet but I have the books. I’m interesting to read The Yield and All The Birds Singing but those are books I don’t own so I hope they arrive on time. I think sometimes the mail service think we are at the end of the world☺️But I know that after COVID-19 everything changed.

I bought Lonely Graves but it just arrived so I couldn’t read it for MarchMysteryMadness but it will be in my April tbr🤗

Hi, Britta. A great line up of Aussie books you have for April; I have added them to my local library catalog as 'possibles' to read. On my shelf are: 'The Secret River' (Thornhill Family Trilogy #1) by Kate Grenville, 'The Dry' by Jane Harper; and I have always wanted to read 'The Strays' by Emily Bitto and 'Mullumbimby' by Melissa Lucashenko. Happy Aussie April! D.

Hooray for Aussie April. I have read 3 of the Stella shortlist so far, and have the other 3 on order. Some other authors I recommend are Melissa Lucashenko, Richard Flanagan, Kim Scott, ...so many really. I have The Performance by Claire Thomas also sitting on my TBR pile and yes, must read another Jane Harper which are lovely escapist novels to get engrossed in.

What a corker of a TBR for #AussieApril. I'm participating, but as an Australian I guess I read something Australian each month (actually I should check that I do), but hoping to read more this month. I'm reading Claire Thomas' The Performance, and I just started the audiobook of Laura Jean McKay's The Animals in That Country and have the audio of Fathoms ready to go too. Aside from that several of my favourites just released new books - I preordered (comedian) Judith Lucy's new (audio)book, and found new books from Emily Maquire and Nikki Gemmel when I was out shopping yesterday. Naturally I have hundreds of other unread Aussie books about the house, but those are the ones that are speaking to me most strongly today.

I am planning to read Claire G. Coleman's Terra Nullius for Scott and Nelle's book group. Hope you will enjoy all of your Aussie April books, Britta! The Yield seems very popular right now.

Britta is back throwing a kink into my reading plans! I've always made an effort to read some Aussie books each year, and there are some good options in this video. I need to read at least one Patrick White book off my shelf first though. I've read many books of Aussie history, both fiction and non, and it is such an amazing place! Thank you Britta!

These are the books I'd like to get to for Aussie April: Island Home by Tim Winton (also Book Naturalists April read), The Yield by Tara June Winch, The Dry and Force of Nature by Jane Harper, The Weekend by Charlotte Wood and The Erratics by Vicki Laveau-Harvie.

I keep reading reviews for Australian books and thinking ooh I really want to read that....only to find that it is not out in the UK for another year. Sigh. One intrigued me so much I had a friend send it to me from Australia and I was not disappointed. The Dictionary of Lost Words by Pip Williams is out mid April here so am hoping I can persuade my book club to read it. An imaginative recounting of the compilation of the first Oxford Dictionary, the main character is a young girl whose father is one of the dictionary team and she plays around on the floor under the table while the words are discussed. A great read for lovers of words.

Never heard of Ann Summers before. Sounds fascinating. And why do I not know that you once worked for Greenpeace? I nearly spilled my tea, when you mentioned that.

I’m also reading The Survivors in April and like you, I bought it without knowing what it was about because I really enjoyed her other books! 😁
