Also there is no way to express the e^X function purely in terms of numeric computation, so wouldn't the exponential also be linear regression because you would have to use the Taylor series expansion to whatever Precision is acceptable

And here I thought linear regression created (k-1) planes. The fact that the predictive variables can be nonlinear makes the term "linear regression" a confusing naming convention
