Goan Chicken Xacuti Recipe | Goan Chicken Curry | Chicken Xacuti Recipe | How To Make Chicken Xacuti . Chicken Xacuti or Xacutti (Konkani: शागोती) is a curry prepared in Goa, India, with complex spicing, including white poppy seeds, sliced or grated coconut and large dried red chilies.It is usually prepared with chicken.It is also known as chacuti in Portuguese.

Chicken Xacuti is a exotic ChickenCurryRecipe. In this ChickenXacuti marinated chicken pieces are simmered in freshly ground masala paste and coconut milk. Try out this delicious ChickenShagoti and serve it hot with phulka, roti, naan, and paratha.

Chicken Xacuti or Shagoti as is commonly known in Goa has its origin in Harmal (now Arambol) in Pernem Taluka of Goa. Here fisherman in the olden days used to get a fresh catch of fish or a local chicken and prepare a gravy for this dish. The gravy typically used local spices like black pepper (meerya), chilli, turmeric, onion, nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, etc. The hero was a mildly roasted coconut kernel which is finely grated and lightly toasted.

Clean n boil chicken with a bit of salt n turmeric powder n keep aside....
Xacuti Masala method
Heat oil in a kadai 2 tbs den add all d ingredients like 2 onion sliced fry it until it becomes translucent add chilies ( 12) ,ginger piece (2 )inch ,garlic (12) , pepper powder 2 tsp ,garam masala powder 4tbs fry for one minute den add 1 full grated coconut and fry until it becomes a bit crispy..of the flame let it cool for sum time ..den add it to the mixer n grind you can even add Coriander leaves while grinding for more green color and taste.

Later heat oil in the same kadai 2 tbs add one large sliced onion , fry a bit then add one large or medium tomato n try for 5 mints until it becomes soft later add d grind-ed xacuti masala into the kadai let it boil until you see bubbles coming out add salt as per Ur taste later add the boiled chicken in the masala n let it boil for sum time n garnish it with Coriander leaves .

NOTE- If u have added more salt while boiling d chicken then add very less salt in the masala while boiling..or as per your taste.

Ingredients
oil - 3tbs
Onion -3 large
Tomato-1 large
Green chilies- 12
Ginger -2 inch
Garlic- 12
Turmeric - 1 TSP
Pepper -2 TSP
Garam masala- 3 tbs
One full grated coconut
Coriander leaves -(handful)

Ratna pls don't say garam masala, as non goans does not know garan masala mention it as xacuti masala, as for them garam masala means the other masala used commonly
