I’ve been researching xacuti recipes and Goan recipes are different from what I believe are the Portuguese versions. Even in Goan recipes, the variations from recipes to recipes is huge. Even color. Some are more red while others are like this one, mustard is yellow brown color. Some use ponch phoron, this recipe uses roasted masala which I believe is graham masala? Some use molasses and this recipe uses tamarind. The tamarind I found in my local Himalayan grocer is a block with the seeds in it. How would you adjust in this recipe when using that? I’m also using frozen coconut flakes and also have dried ones too.

I think I’ll have to make each version and stick with the one I like. Time to roll up the sleeves and get cookin’ wish me luck!

Hi bro! I made this today for dinner. WOW! Talk about bursting of flavours! It was spicy (which I LOVE), rich, tangy and so finger lickin' good! The taste was unique and was worth trying it out. Superb! Thank u for giving this recipe for ppl like me to try something new once a while. Ended up eating more than usual.... Hehehhe 😁 . But my dish didn't turn out reddish like yours did at the end. Whatever the colour was, the dish was magnificent! Cheerio! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

The fact the videos r kept simple makes it interesting to look at. Are you a chef, asking coz u said u live in a village but your chopping skills hint u have some training?

Very well produced - sleek, no annoying background music or unnecessary commentary. Have an issue with ‘roasted’ red masala - it’s not roasted, it’s pan fried or toasted.
