Malik Ambar with the help of Marathas and other sardars protected the Nizamshahi kingdom . He died at the age of 80. He was a source of inspiration for SHIVAJI Maharaj to establish Swarajya in Deccan. Ambar was also a great statesman and built the city of Aurangabad ,built water canals for the growing population there. It is said that Ambar was the first to use catapults 'rockets' in Indian subcontinent ,used it while fighting with mighty Mughal armies of Deccan. Ambar got full support of Adilshahi kingdom of Bijapur because , Adilshah wanted Nizamshahi kingdom to act as buffer between Adlishahi and the Mughal Empire.
