Oh Chief Hanlon, if only you didnt build a career on subterfuge and lies, getting the Rangers sent to Baja for the "100 man strong raider army" you pretended was out there.

Chief Ranger Hanlon made one mistake that the General Olivee didnt commit during the battle: Placing his troops on the ridge again, the legion fully learned about this and if the player doesn't intervene it's likely they would have tried to find s way to repair the artillery piece with or without the boomers as they bomb the ridge once done - or to ambush the rangers on the ridge.

The legion was also on full swing trying to finish the battle quickly and begin pushing from all directions after hoover is taken - Reserves get called to hoover dam from NCR - once that happens the legion begins pushing from other areas, the NCR retreats from the dam as they are being sorrounded after which a series of counter attacks happen on other legion bases, but with hoover secured the legion only needs to retreat and advancd towards vegas - Where the fiends would have ambushed the NCR. - it's likely Hanlon would have made the same tactics over, and lost, general Oliver tried to stop them right at hoover but fails on 3/4 scenarios.

as great as the NV story is i still cant imagine mainly melee faction having any fighting chance against a group where everyone is carrying an Assault rifle even in 10:1 difference especially in the wide open deserts with no conver or concealment
