Children are immortal in Fallout. We all know this, so it would have been easier for him to decimate his whole tribe at 12

One detail I've always found odd is that someone (maybe caesar?) describes Lanius as basically just a brute. He apparently doesn't care about the legion whatsoever, he is only loyal because he has ample opportunities to fight.

But when you meet him, he's pretty reasonable, to the point that you can just convince him to retreat, by explaining that it would be for the benefit of the legion he supposedly doesn't care about.

the no facial scars is definitely a technical issue, cause Joshua Graham, despite canonically being a very crispy boy, is smooth as hell when you remove his outfit

WHOEVER is under that mask is a fucking beast in melee combat full stop. The idea that he is "merely an actor" is underscored by the fact that he can seriously throw down when push comes to shove.

What's most impressing to me is that Lanius is 6 '11 and strong enough to catry that massive sword in his NON-POWER armor and kill an NCR trooper in one or two hits
