I think the intel 300 processor might be fine in terms of emulation or lightweight games (like mobile games example), but only on really cheap

Intel 300 should've had at least 4 E-Cores alongside its 2 P-Cores, it'll probably help with heavier workloads. Or, Intel 300 should have 4 P-Cores, i3 with 6, i5 with 8, i7 with 10/12 and i9 with 16 full fat P-Cores.

I've heard plenty of tech people say a processors like the Intel 300 or Pentium g7400 are good for really basic systems. They're right if everything is running fine and Windows is not having issues with corrupted files or anything. These processors become dogs when something gets corrupted or if the OS needs to run a huge update. If I'm going to build Grandma a system, then I'd at least get a Core i3, not a Pentium. Throw granny a life preserver, ffs

I play in 1080p (with fps locked at 75), I have ddr4 memory (3733mhz), I don't plan to replace the ddr5 board, I wonder if, having rtx 4070, it makes sense to replace the current i5 12400f with e.g. i5 13500 or i5 13600k/kf?

well, 12100f very nice for 90 bucks(4 cores, 8 threads). I just sold my 12700k and got a 12100 as a replacement, everything works as before on the 12700, I use the PC as a multimedia processor(youtube, games), it doesn’t do any complex work
