Her using the AC and it breaking without her battering it with a bat is the normal use of the device as judge Judy stated. Reminds me of the case with the big lady who used the toilet and it broke and her friend was suing her and acting like she deliberately destroyed the toilet. Judge Judy is so logical, I love her way of thinking.

The plaintiff is not living in the real world. The Old Van breaking down caused inconvenience to the renter. Perhaps the Judge should have awarded a token $10 for the lady as an affront to the plaintiff's absurd case.

I thought that there had to be more to the plaintiff's story than there was. Is he insane? He rents out a thirty year old vehicle, the A/C goes out (probably original equiptment), and he expected her to pay. The compressor seized, the serpentine belt broke, and it's her fault? The $1800 he put into the A/C system was more expensive than the vehicle was worth.

My favorite is when JJ dismisses the plaintiff's case and then they have to sit there and listen while she decides if they are going to not only lose their case but have to now pay the defendant.
