China accuses US of 'spreading fear' over novel coronavirus

China has slammed the imposition of travel bans on its citizens. Beijing has accused the US and other countries of overreacting and going against the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO). The coronavirus death toll in China has soared past 360, with more than 17,000 infected. However, officials said that preventing people from entering countries is unreasonable. Meanwhile, the WHO has praised China's efforts to contain the outbreak.

I'm living in Singapore. They recently banned foreigners with travel history from mainland China and had to quarantine citizens, PRs and those with permit. But now we have 33 cases and having local transmissions from Chinese tourists that came in BEFORE the ban was implemented. Singapore is already suffering consequences because they did not ban earlier. Yet, the Chinese government is unhappy? What did they expect? They can't even keep it under control. Yes they need help, but they also shouldn't whine about other countries protecting their own residents.
