Hubsan X4 Pro H109S Long Range FPV Flight Test Review

preview_player
Показать описание

Pro's
- Long range (1000m) range of both quadcopter control and FPV video transmission.
- Large 7000mah battery for long endurance (over 25 minutes) flying.
- 1080p remote controlled video camera.
- Telemetry including GPS status, range, speed, height, remaining battery power, quadcopter position (latitude/longitude)
- Flight modes include GPS Position Hold, Altitude Hold, Headless Mode, Return to Home/Landing. This quadcopter is a real speed demon in Altitude Hold mode.
- This basic version includes single axis (non-stabilized) remote controlled gimbal, another fixed gimbal for mounting camera phones, and an automatic emergency parachute recovery system (recommended if flying over property or people). Parachute recovery system does not come with the higher end gimbal equipped X4's due to weight limitations (can't safely simultaneously carry the parachute system and a heavy stabilized gimbal).

Con's
- Requires FAA registration.
- FPV screen is somewhat small. Can use third party goggles and screens to view real time aerial video, but telemetry information may not be viewable with such.
- Does not come with SD card and card reader. Must purchase separately.
- Parachute recovery system weighs close to 200 grams. If not needed (example flights over empty fields), recommend not installing to save weight and improve flight performance.

For those who may be interested. The Hubsan x4 pro 109s HE works great with my 5.8ghz Fatshark attitude goggles.

Love your videos. Thanks to your review (and others) of the H501s, I just got one. It's the same controller as you have in this video, but the Tx antenna on mine looks shorter, so I want to ask about swapping for a longer one for use with a parabolic booster. Can you recommend one? Thanks for all you do.

Hi, great video, did you notice the white artifact in the middle of the screen on the quad camera? At first I thought it was my screen, but its def on the video of the quad, as, it moves slightly, whether its a reflection of the sun etc not sure its only small, but once you see it, cant take your eyes of it...

I love Hubsan and learned to fly on one, but they are not in the same league as DJI. No one is really. If you've never flown or owned a DJI you might not understand or think the difference isn't that much, but believe me, it is. I am surprised that there isn't another TRUE competitor to DJI after all this time. They are more expensive but worth every penny. If you're considering this or a Phantom 3 or 4, get the Phantom. Better camera, longer range, the video looks like you have a tripod in the sky. These are toys compared to DJI

Thanks for the review. Seems like a pretty decent deal. I was wondering if the battery was fully charged? It looks like you got under 10 minutes of flight and battery was close to being spent. Also wqs the gimbal working? It seemd that the video was a bit shaky for a gimbal.

isn't there one with a gimbal that they've been advertising back then? great review

I've enjoyed your videos for years.
"Question", is image stabilization better on the Hubsan Zino than the X4 pro?
Thank you for your great videos.

Thanks for another great review on the back of which I bought this, BUT guys please check your motor screws as two of mine had totally unscrewed and were loose in the clear plastic LED covers and I had only had a couple of short flights which is more than a little worrying for such a great Quadcopter.

I just yesterday received my H109s. Just wanted to give you and anyone else an FYI. These have had VRS Issues (Prop Wash) when coming down. Long story short here. I got blades for a 3DR Solo, and also a set of Master Airscrew props for a 3DR Solo and put on this H109s. The blades are a bit more costly, but they take care of a costly bird anyway. If you notice on the backside of the 109s prop how it is curved in some, thus not getting complete air manageability//lift, and the other 2 styles are straight, thus getting that little bit extra air Manageability and lift.
Now my Hubsan H109s has no VRS issue unless I descend stupidly fast.
