I would expect a video like this to show more screenshots or video of each interface and get more specific about plugin support and configuration options differences. Plex stopped supporting 3rd party plugins about 2 years ago, but Emby still supports 3rd party plugins. Some of those add support for Audiobooks and other cool things.

Just came across your videos. I would like to see you do more about Jellyfin. Plex and Emby are close or partially closed source.

And in a world where it's harder to stay in control of your personality info . I would think more information and how to's on Jellyfin would be something to look forward to seeing.

Just came across your videos. Nice work! I think a video showing how to setup the https for Jellyfin would be great.

Plex supports HDR Tone Mapping and Intro skipping, which is a definitive plus for me
EDIT: Emby and Jellyfin too.

After testing some of them:

Plex: Performs well
Emby: performs as well as Plex
Jellyfin: Good luck activating Quicksync HW transcoding on Docker + some media won't even play which is weird ... Too bad because the open source end of Jellyfin means total control over the software

I have Plex and tried jellyfin on my windows system.
Results:
Needed 3 installs to finally get it working.
One movie folder added without a problem, after that no folders I try to add show up.
Installed app doesn't find the server automatically on the network.
Tried 5 different movies where jellyfin was only be able to play one.
So the windows version is not that good in my opinion.
I would suggest Kodi or Plex with a lifetime pass as they work as expected

You didn’t mention that if your server is on a Plex pass then everyone who joins your server can just have the free version of Plex. I think that’s a big miss on your part.

Thanks. Can You share your Plex Movies with a family member if the hard drive with the movies is plugged into the Plex and plugged into the TV and not a PC.

Would like to see some videos on Jellyfin. I have had Plex for MANY years and did setup both Emby and Jellyfin in the past. I didn't have a good experience with either so I just keep Plex. I am a Linux user also.

Plex looks visually more appealing that stock emby/jellyfin, but emby supports custom css that looks even better than plex, while plex has no support for changing appearance.

Nice video, I run a plex server and would like to switch to Jellyfin. Only problem is that I get no metadata for tv shows. I get all metadata for movies. I can view the tv shows, but no data and grouping of the shows. I run my server from windows10.6. I have tried everything and still no metadata for tv shows. any help would be appreciated.

Plex used to be the one app that did everything, but long time users have said Plex has changed their business structure, they also removed 3rd party plugins and 3rd party apps and addons. So users left Plex and went to Emby, and Jellyfish...but because Jellyfish is not as supported on a more mainstream level, I have been hearing more about Emby. Also another good one is Stremio, they say with Stremio it literally supports every format without issues. I have not used Stremio or Jellyfin yet though to compare them to Plex or Emby.

I would love to see a video on jellyfin. I am a long time Plex user and have played a little with emby and jellyfin but not to much. Have you ever given any thought to doing a video on streaming devices and comparing them? I am currently in the market for a new streaming device that support 4k HDR all formats and all audio formats including Atmos and dts-x. I also have an older receiver with HDMI 1.4 and I am struggling to find a solution to get 4k HDR to my tv and lossless audio to my receiver that does true HD and DTS master. My current streaming device is a Roku premiere plus. With Plex it transcodes true HD audio and outputs direct picture ( as long as no forced subtitles) with emby it it handles the audio different and I get transcoding because Atmos is not supported. So video is also transcoded. Fin times. Lol

Plex sucks, why should anyone pay money for an interface that promotes content from other places other than what I am hosting? When I sign in, I want to see my content not anyone else's.
