What I love about this comic is the parallels. Rex has good karma, his family on the other hand has bad karma. A reflection.

If my memory is right, the reason why the mare hates the brown foal is because of a certain genome Hasbio added to them. It makes them hate bland looking foals and hasbio did so out of profit because colorful foals sell better. Moreover this genome also makes the mare hate other types of foals such as the "alicorns" but Hasbio intended that as well so that foals like that becomes rare similar to that of a collectors item.

The f*cked up part is that brown fluffys are the original ones, which is essentially their ancestral look or what they originally looked like and alicorn dna is dormant to any type of fluffy meaning even though a fluffy does not look like a alicorn it has a possibility of giving birth to one.

Damn, it really shows the difference between pink and brown fluffies when they see eachother at the end. When "mummah" sees Rex happy and healthy, she is disgusted, but when Rex sees his "mummah's" rotten corpse he is mortified.
