I feel like it is inevitable for someone to hear "Amen Brother" at one point during their life, I swear it is everywhere lol

Great video. I knew a lot of them but I never knew that Rob Dougan's Clubbed To Death drums were a sample. That little break has been stuck in my head more than the Amen and the Apache breaks combined!

Happy to have learned something new :)

Think is God tier. It crushes the Amen and every other break mentioned here by a long shot. Skull Snaps is cool as a layering break but Detroit Emeralds - You're Getting A Little Too Smart (Album Version) Sweat Pea, N.T. and many other slower, more vanilla breaks are also gold for this purpose.

nothing like playing this video on 1.25x

I doubt the Think break would be nearly as notable if it wasn’t for that chant at the loop’s beginning

Is there any sample pack out there with all the "famous" breaks?
Amen, think, Impeach the president, funky drummer etc. ?

Would like to have it all sampled from the original vinyl and not some remake.

the hot pants break though. What is the instrument playing all that jangly stuff? It's not just a tambourine is it??

Lightnin' Rod and Rotary are really not the most sampled, I hear more Roachclip, Fatback Band, Sweat Pea and so on. Unless your taking about America d&b? The bittish stuff is more sampled from the funk side of northern soul collections or straight up soul with breaks like Isley Brothers - Get Into Something, or even rock bands that were bog in the UK (there's a classic Lead Zeppelin break).

Honestly? Not a fan of Funky Drummer. I've always leaned towards the Amen (and its derivates, such as the Tramen), Think, and more recently the Soul Pride and Tighten Up breaks.

Great post but the process to unlock the link is broken, just keeps asking you to subscribe to your channel to unlock the link, you subscribe and then it sends you around in a circle all over again and tells you you need to subscribe to unlock the link again.

Swop Life Could for Roachclip. Clip is important because of the pattern Rotary Connection Life Could is just another break really.

Amen is the best (Anyone who disagrees is deluded)
Think and Hot pants are really good though.
