Massive Sinkholes Open Across Turkish Farmland

Massive sinkholes opened across the breadbasket of the Turkish plains, worrying farmers as the sinkholes creep closer to residential homes.

The holes open when underground caverns created by drought can no longer contain the weight of the soil above.

About 600 sinkholes have been counted along the Konya plain, nearly double the 350 counted last year. (AFP)

A perfect circle doesn't make sense. The ground can collapse but for it to be a perfect circle everytime in the area is just freaky.

So these caverns are normally aquifer just below the surface? Sinkholes seem like a very dangerous issue. Is there an aerial way to search for these voids before they could hurt someone unexpectedly?

but i have one other theory on these, god made the good angels cut the original giant trees that left stumps. when the giant giant trees fell some of the limbs would have snapped and stuck in the ground so far. depending on the soft dirt and size of tree . i think some of these are what i say
