Please note at 1:04 I say 64-bit applications will no longer be supported which is incorrect - I mean 32-bit applications will no longer be supported in Catalina - sorry for any confusion.

UPDATE: As of 27th September 2020 I have updated to Catalina with no problems although I have removed 32bit programs.

In this video Ian explains why its not a good idea to upgrade to MacOS Catalina and how to find which of your programs are 32bits and 64bits

Never upgrade to a new MacOS as soon as it comes out unless you want to become a beta-tester. Especially with Catalina a lot of printer/scanner drivers & older software no longer work because it dropped 32bit support.

Nice video, I really agree with you, getting Catalina doesn't sound too good. Just wanted to say hi to another Ian!

I have a ton of MP3 files I didn't buy from Apple. The only thing I'm worried about is, if I get Catalina, will I still be able to see my 40, 000 plus non Apple tracks in the new music app?

PLEASE HELP!
I have the problem where the hard drive did not have enough space to complete the installation if OS Catalina, so it damaged the disk somehow (it's an SSD) and I can only type in my password, and mid log in the computer shuts down again. Things I have tried after hours with apple care on the phone:
1. Install OS Catalina on an external hard drive and boot the computer from there
2. Try to access the files by going to Finder -> Macintosh HD -> Users
3. There is only a folder called "Shared", but not the one where all my content form the HD are.
4. Tried to use Migration Assistant to move the files from "Macintosh HD Data", did not work
5. Tried to mount and unmount the "Macintosh HD" and "Macintosh HD Data" multiple times, in order to try to see the "Macintosh HD Data" disk in the finder, but did not work.

I have 92 GB worth of pictures and important documents on my MacBook, can anyone please help me out here? :(

Chrome no longer works for me, nor does Opera. Both crash constantly. Safari not an option as it's just awful. Now I have no browser. Or at least for no longer than a couple of minutes. Crashes lots when using virtual keyboard. Anyone any fixes yet? Catalina no better than a beta version yet it prompted me to upgrade. Wish I hadn't.

NO MORE INTERNET RADIO AS YOU KNEW IT FOR THE LAST 2 DECADES! THEY WANT YOU TO SUBSCRIBE TO APPLE MUSIC, SO THEY NOT ONLY CHARGE YOU A FEE, THEY CONTROL WHAT YOU SEE AND HEAR.
