Customers are walking out of Home Depot as we near black Friday because they are mad. Why are customers walking out of Home Depot.

Two women at Lowes Home Improvement in Wytheville, VA, told me I HAD to use the self check out. I said "No...I don't." and put my stuff down and walked out. More people should do this to let them know we aren't mindless zombies who will just quietly do what we're told. I refuse to give up what little freedom I have left, to corporate greed and governmental control.

I never use the self scan. If they push for cashless I don't spend any time there. I've been fighting this fight for a long time. More power to you.

If a business wont take cash...don't shop there.

It says on the cash "This note is legal tender for all debts public and private". If any business is operating with any license or permit in the USA, they should be required to accept cash.

The other day at Lowe’s only 3 self checks were open, nothing else. I scan my item and said to the lady, the price ran up wrong. She stands and says, oh, well I can’t leave this area. I looked at her for a moment and she said, would you mind going back and taking a picture of the item, so she could check. Well, then I REALLY looked at her, as I passed her by, I gently patted her on the shoulder and nicely said, “looks like I don’t have a choice now do I?” I preceded to walk 13 isles back to the item and then 13 isles to self checkout. When I returned she was trying help another customer, that self checkout wouldn’t accept their payment. They had to leave that machine to go to another one. (I had that happen at that machine, too) I looked at her and loudly said, this looks like a good reason to have humans working the check outs, doesn’t it.

We have a new Home Depot in our small town, with ALL self checkout. After shopping there the first time, I left my buggy and merchandise in the line and walked out. I will continue to shop at my locally owned hardware store at any cost.

Since they implemented these self checkouts, prices haven’t gone down plus WE DO THE WORK!!!

It's also about charging more with fees and tracking everything you buy and everywhere you go. Big brother is truly watching.

I know you're correct. Even more frequently, store clerks are saying, "We don't stock that, but you can get it on our site on the Internet." My reply is always, "If you keep sending me to the Internet, you're going to lose your job."

Had a neighbor that purchased a lawnmower at Home Depot and HD refused cash. Last time I checked cash is still legal in this country!

It's called Fractional Reserve Currency for a reason. The banks don't like to hand it out because they know there is a limited supply and if everyone wanted it at once it doesn't exist.
They can fudge the numbers in a cashless system - with cash they can't.

I do not use self check out lines. I'm not an employee! People have been falsely arrested due to mistakes and charged with shoplifting.
