Wolves and Ravens: Nature's Best Friends

Wolves are some of nature's most famous animals, and ravens are some of the most famous birds. You may think these two animals don't interact much, but they're closer friends than you might think. While occasionally a wolf might snack on a raven, it's much more common seeing them live in harmony.

Ravens have even begun using this relationship to fend off competition from the other main scavenger of North America: coyotes. They’ve been known to actually alert wolves of coyotes nearby so the wolves go to chase off or kill the coyote, thereby removing any competition for carrion. They’ll even fly over the coyote so it can’t hide from the wolves. Such devilishly intelligent dinosaurs they are.

What I get from that is that wolves are really good at making friends with other animals.

This is probably why Norse mythology had Odin with pet ravens and wolves, they probably believed there was something spiritual or divine about the connection between them.
