OpenWRT - Xiaomi Mi Router 4 OpenWRT Installation

In this video, I will show you how to install OpenWRT on the Xiaomi Mi Router 4. This router is powered by the MediaTek MT7621 SoC with 3 gigabit Ethernet ports and dual band 802.11bgn+ac WiFi. It only comes with Chinese language and intended to be sold in China.
In order to install OpenWRT, we can use OpenWRTInvasion to get shell access to the router, and then use SSH or telnet to write the OpenWRT firmware with mtd command. The other way is using a chip programmer which required additional hardwares and knowledge in working with FLASH chip; therefore, I will skip it.
The ideal platform to run OpenWRTInvasion is Linux. In this video, I will ubuntu, but other Linux OS will work just fine. You can use Windows with docker, but this will be more complicated.

I have just followed this video and successfully got the SSH/Telnet access and installed OpenWRT on Xiaomi 4A Gigabit version. Many thanks for the tutorial. Somehow Hoddys Guides and all other's tutorials didn't work for me, just couldn't get the telnet access to the router.

Can u help? Wifi ac is not working... Keeps saying wifi not associated and it just won't start it at all

What I did wrong during flashing is I selected kernel1/rootfs from v21.02.0, then later flashed sysupgrade v21.02.1

Is that why it's not working idk... is wifi ac working for you?

How can I fix this from here? restore back to stock somehow then try flashing correct version of kernel1/rootfs? Idk how to restore tho xd
