Zoo Hypothesis

The zoo hypothesis speculates on the assumed behavior and existence of technically advanced extraterrestrial life and the reasons they refrain from contacting Earth. The hypothesis is that alien life intentionally avoids communication with Earth, and one of its main interpretations is that it does so to allow for natural evolution and sociocultural development, avoiding interplanetary contamination, similarly to people observing animals at a zoo. The hypothesis seeks to explain the apparent absence of extraterrestrial life despite its generally accepted plausibility and hence the reasonable expectation of its existence.

Aliens might, for example, choose to allow contact once the human species has passed certain technological, political, or ethical standards. They might withhold contact until humans force contact upon them, possibly by sending a spacecraft to planets they inhabit. Alternatively, a reluctance to initiate contact could reflect a sensible desire to minimize risk. An alien society with advanced remote-sensing technologies may conclude that direct contact with neighbors confers added risks to oneself without an added benefit.

This video conjures up an old saying that states "They look but they do not see"--If an open minded person, who has not been brain washed by some religion, looks at ancient history he or she will see a multitude of evidence we have been visited in the distant past by something or someone who left many clues right before our eyes. Craftsmen and Scientists alike will state over and over again that some of these artifacts that exist here on Earth can't be duplicated with our current technology yet they blow it off by telling us they were made with copper chisels and wooden hammers and moved Mega-Ton perfectly carved items with wooden logs as rollers with hundreds of men pulling on ropes.
A real intelligent person can see with his or hers' own eyes that something else took place at these locations where they exist today in our supposed High Tech all knowing existence. Religious Nonsense is our quick sand that keeps us from going forth with a new way of thinking on this subject and it will take more and more brave people to dispel the notion that some intelligent being waved a wand and produced the most imperfect human being to slaughter each other in his name. Then when he saw his mistake he murdered all humans and animals on this Earth so he could start over so This God also produced the greatest Paradox the world has ever known. Create everything so he could destroy it later and start over with an incesteual single family and 2 of each animal on Earth. It takes brainwashing to achieve this fairy tale to be believed by millions of people and yet the evidence is completely over looked right before our eyes. Some day we will wise up----I hope~!!!

I liked the dark matter jab, but a even better one (in my opinion) would have been "continental drift". First theorized in 1912 and completely rejected until 1967. That is just 53 years of it being completely accepted. Flight is another great one that show's how badly scientist can be wrong.
We love to believe that we are this super advanced species, but the sad reality is we are not. We fight over resources that are abundant if we would just ban together and go get them.
If I was a alien advanced enough to travel the stars I defiantly would not visit this planet.

A basic response to the Fermi Paradox: "Where is everybody?" Well, where are we? We have two tiny probes in all the cosmos that have gone beyond our solar system. We have no structures on another planet for an alien to see. It is VERY likely that another planet's inhabitants looking at our solar system might well look but not see us. We have looked at several other systems, but have we looked closely enough to see another "us"? Not in most cases. We do not have the technology to do so, and, once again, how many would we need to look "everywhere". It might well be that a civilization other than ours might have probes, telescopes or comparable technologies but they too are forced to CHOOSE where to look; it is unlikely they have limitless numbers of such technologies.So perhaps THEY are everywhere but, like us, are just not looking in the right place.
