The images, the full set of which will be released Tuesday morning, will be the deepest and highest resolution ever taken of the universe, according to NASA.

The telescope will help scientists study the formation of the universe’s earliest galaxies, how they compare to today’s galaxies, how our solar system developed and if there is life on other planets. President Joe Biden unveiled the first full-color image taken by the James Webb Space Telescope.

The image, revealed during a press event held at the White House Monday and also attended by Vice President Kamala Harris, shows multiple galaxies.

It is the highest-resolution image of the universe ever captured, officials said.

"Today is a historic day," said Biden. "It’s a new window into the history of our universe and today we’re going to get a first glimpse of the light to shine through that window."

NASA Administrator Bill Nelson said the light seen on the image has been traveling for over 13 billion years.

A photo like this is a reminder of what and where we are. A grain of sand and its incomprehensible, my gut tells me its brimming with life out there and other things we never even considered

I believe that those bent galaxies are a result of a gravitational lens. Could be...

Glad they zoomed into the part that I personally found the most interesting first. Weird bent looking galaxies. Those few stars right in a row. This is cool. Almost hard to believe it’s real. We simply cannot be alone out there.

Thank you.... That view is absolutely stunning. I hope this will be shown in a planetarium. I'd love to sit in there and feel like I'm moving around space. Awesome.

It’s crazy to think that the universe is possibly infinite. And I bet ancient alien civilizations exist closest to the start of the universe.

This presentation is more about theatrics then science. Cut the music, video mesmerizing and political grandstanding and tell us what we have so far.

The image is amazing but the music is priceless.

So even if we happen to see something that looks made by something else it would have been made far in the past so in a sense it’s space archeology

The US 🇺🇲 is about 100 years ahead of China in the space technology.
- Hopefully this technology won't be stolen.

And people still think we are alone in this universe I don’t think God will make all these galaxies 🌌 and planets 🪐 just to keep them empty makes no sense

Many years someone who was alumni at a University and had full access to NASA images. He had them on his Sony Vaio laptop and the images of the moon and planets where in a very large resolution format that let you see small details. I'm saying us peon public porn-stars barely get any images with any real and useful resolution.

Nice photo, a bit too much colouring, but the stars are OK. Like many. Totally.
