"Data you used a contraction!" "No I didn't". The most Monty Pythonesque John Cleesish line ever heard in Star Trek. I knew there'd be a Geordi wine joke sooner or later

The monologue that Data gives when he takes back the ship just topped this episode off for me. The line "Unwanted guests and monologuing protoplasms..." So human but very much Data. Adored this episode.

Every struggling couple fakes it when they have guests over. Riker and Troi playing happy family in season 1 makes even MORE sense after this episode. Brilliant writing.

Amanda Plummer deserves an emmy/bafta and other numerous awards for her performance in this series.

The running gag this season that nobody likes Picard's wine is one of my favorite things.

When Worf said "he was going to send them the heads of those he had slaine but it would have seemed passive aggressive" I laughed my ass off.

The moment Spot was brought into it all it really choked me up.

Something about Data's relationship with Spot always struck a chord with me, and when he found him in the Enterprise wreckage at the end of Generations that scene always hit me too.

But when that was Data's final memory and meant that much it just felt so much like TNG again. Good stuff

Frakes is giving a master class in character acting in this series. His performance is superb. I can't get over how much fun and how engaging the character of Riker is in this series, especially in his interplay with Sir Patrick Stewart and with Marina Sirtis. Good stuff!

I wish that there were 20 more episodes. Season 3 is just amazing. One of the best Trek seasons ever.

This episode did more for Troi than 7 seasons of tng. It was nice to see her use her abilities without her being "unsure". Or being happy without shoving chocolate in her mouth

The moment i heard Spot i couldnt hold my tears back. I had to say goodbye to my cat Leila in october 2020 after 15 years together and it brought back so many feelings. Seeing Spot again after 20 years was a pure heart moment. whoever had the idea for this scene....thank you so much

As someone who knows all too well the pain of losing a child, I’ve often found myself “faking until I make it” when it comes to happiness. So the happy family scene on nepenthe checks out strangely. I will say that this whole season has brought back all the feels, and has actually been cathartic.

I loved this episode. Best moment: “get off my bridge!” “F—- solids!”

My mom was always shocked that Brent Spiner never got an award for his acting in TNG.

Tasha being in a different pose is not a big deal. Because Data was not holding the actual holo device, It was the memory representation of all his memories of Tasha.

Seven standing up for Shaw not wanting to sacrifice him uselessly is Janeway's upbringing of Seven coming back. Janeway savegarded the family no matter what.

For me, one of the best scenes is to see Data and Geordi back together again as best friends. We got to see how much Geordi cared about Data and during the last couple of episodes and how Data was able to now properly articulate his feelings for his best friend. It gets you in the feels remembering how much of a bond Data and Geordi had for each other since their first years on the Enterprise D. They've always been my favorite Star Trek duo.

The scene with Geordie and Data in the passage "I feel". Well, I think we all felt. Data finally able to fully express how his friendship with Geordie shaped his being. Such a wonderful scene.

My only down is Lal never made an appearance. I had thought Data's daughter was going to be the catalyst for Lore and Data to combine fully into one being. For the Riker and Troi conversation about not liking their home, I am not surprised. Grief is something that takes time to move through and feel. I lost my 8-month-old son back in 2019. I felt that Riker and Troi were finally being honest with one another. My wife and I tried to be normal for my daughter's sake afterward. We pretended for a long time. Eventually, we moved forward. I think what we see here is two people (Riker and Troi) ready to move forward. I didn't see it as a dig to the Season 1 Riker and Troi. I saw it as an evolution of the couple.

This episode encapsulates and showcases how well cast The Next Generation really was that even decades later the actors can come back, slip into their characters, and show that while their bodies may have changed, their chemistry and ability to riff off each other hasn't changed a bit.

Tie it all up with the TNG theme music and you have all the feels. This is an A-Class episode that I could rewatch over and over and over again.
