Why did Canon make the EOS R3??

In this video I talk a bit more in depth about my experience using the new Canon EOS R3 mirrorless camera. After a couple of hours of use it felt very reminiscent of holding my old 1DX MKII. I have to say, having that familiar pro body feel was nice but what was nicer was the battery life with this camera using the larger LP-E19 batteries. I dive into the amazing new auto focus features like Vehicle Detection and touch on my experience using the new Eye Control feature. Finally, I discuss who should buy this camera and what type of photographer would get the most use out of it. And yes, I talk about how we crashed it while mounted to a drone – somebody needs to test how tough these things are :).

This video also illustrates how insane drone technology is at this point. To see that thing fly around like that with a big and heavy camera on it is just mind-blowing to me. And the R3, well, that camera is incredible. I'm in the Sony camp myself (A7R3), but I love what Canon has been doing with mirrorless lately. Their last few cameras have been just so impressive. And the colors, man. Canon just gets that perfectly right.
