On my Cannon Rebel XS I just have Format.... Cancel and OK....it doesn't say Format Card So I select OK and then get msg. Cannot format change card

If anyone runs into the message saying the card can’t be formatted, it may be the fact that your card has too much memory space on it. I tried putting a 64GB card in my canon t1i and it wouldn’t work. Switched to 32GB and works just fine. Hope it works out for everyone

I hope you can help me. I was gifted a Canon EOS Rebel T3. Total beginner. When I turn on the camera and try to take a picture it sounds like it takes one but there isn't any on the memory card. I just reformatted the memory card and same thing happened. What do I do? Thanks Bob.

Yes, but what if it refuses to format the card? Every time I tell it to format, it just goes to the previous scenes and tell me it needs to be formated.
Using a ScanDisk Extreme Pro v30 256gb card.

Your video was very clear and was looking simple enough for me to follow, but after replacing the CF card, and the battery pack I turned it on and only got the Error 2 on the screen and it won't go to menu.
I can however get it there without the card in it, but then of course I can't reformat it.
At one point I could not get the camera to turn off. I am thinking it is a problem with the battery pack. Any suggestions out there? Really need this up and running.

When I put the sd card in the camera, it straight up doesn’t turn on. It just shows Err in the viewfinder. The screen doesn’t turn on either. If I take the card out and take the batter out and put it back in and make sure there’s no card inside, then it turns on as expected. So I can’t even format it

How do I make the pictures save to the sd card? I have formatted the card but the images are still not saving!! I was filming a band last night

Only to find at the end NONE of it was saved and we were all devastated. Please help.

When I format my card and then click on it again it still says I have used 29k, I shot one small test video just to test out the camera and If you don't transfer the footage and you format the card isn't it supposed to wipe the card? Is there a reason it says 29k used after I format the card? Thanks!!!!
