This latter phase of Serena's career has. to me at least, made her into a far more interesting, sympathetic figure than I used to find her, which brings something to my attention. The peculiar amount of invective that this woman seems to inspire clearly doesn't emanate from tennis enthusasts. A cursory glance at the vituperations that abound in the comments section of her videos reveals absolutely no reference to any of the genuine faults that she used to display as a figure on the circuit.(i.e.occasional gamesmanship and being perhaps less than sporting now and then) It consists almost entirely of juvenile name calling, uninformed nonsense and racism, all washed down with a large dose of envy and insecurity. I'm now starting to genuinely admire Serena, now that she seems less distracted by other aspects of "fame" and is focused more on tennis. Her tenacity and enthusiasm have now become something truly inspiring. I wish her luck in her record breaking quest.

come on there's no way you can tell me she is not  THE G.O.A.T.  and her winning the us open and her competing the calendar year would be bananas at freaking 33 years old!!!! and being the number one player in the world  as a professional athlete doing that is unheard off she doesn't the credit she clearly deserves its sad but true. The american crowd  should be able to bring her to the trophy especially the way the British crowd treated her was down right shameful.  22 is next :)
