Maybe setting some ground rules is a good idea, but in my experience dont let the "rules and guidelines" be the basis for miscommunication. By that I mean, you set a rule for times you go to sleep and as humans, not all of us can agree to be in bed lights out at the same time every night. That is just an example.

Bottom line, rules are great to have a conversation about but dont let expectations give yourself an excuse not to voice your concerns as they pop up.

Aka "ugh me and my roomie agreed to always clean our hair out of the shower! She should know better!!!"
