Reviewing NBA 2K19 | My Thoughts So Far

Is the new 2K worth your time and money or should you just stick with 2K18? From the Playground to MyTeam, today I fully review NBA 2K19

This video took a while to edit and I considered even doing it, but I’ve been playing 2K my whole life and in 2k17 and 18, I just didn’t get that same feeling from the game. When I spent $130 on the legend edition of 2K this year and saw similarities from 17/18, it made me have a need to make a video reviewing the game. Today I review every single mode in 2K, while giving criticism, complements and pitches for what 2K can do better in the future. The game is a 6/10 to me, VC is out of control still.

Example:
It cost 200K for a bike AND you have to upgrade it to go faster...

My problem is that they start giving you your nickname like can we just pick our name instead of 2k giving us our name

I agree that MyCareer, stories are feeling repetitive and we are just watching random cutscenes in between what seems to be meaningless gameplay. I feel it should be a new kind of MyCareer, get rid of all this “movie” type of MyCareer and give us a career that actually depends on what we say and what we do.
As far as VC goes I think it is trash, you are paying 60+ on a game where you need to spend More money to allow your player to increase in attributes and you have to pay for cosmetics that are wayyy too much money. I feel 2K would feel more personal if items and such were free and if Playing games actually gave you better VC.

My issue is them sorta neglecting Franchise mode. I feel like im the only person who loves franchsie and doesent like mycareer, so theyve jsut sorta ignored franchise mode last couple of years. Sucks ass

My problem with NBA 2K is that now that they have become such a big basketball simulation game that they feel like they don't have to make any major improvements to gameplay they just make the presentation seem good but the gameplay is nowhere near as good as the presentation by make you think I started playing 2K around to NBA 2K 13 my favorite was NBA 2K 14 when they had it balanced but I think that stopped around NBA 2k 16 the balance was gone but little do they know that they're making the Gap even smaller from them and NBA Live EA is coming

Red boxed for $7 to beat the story, cancelled my preorder, purchased 2k18 as part of a 3 for $25 sale at GameStop and updated my rosters. All well worth the $15 in total to play an updated version of last years game, literally and figuratively!

I usually play MyLeague with the current rosters and I usually spend my time editing draft classes. And I really wanted them to make this mode more realistic... I would start with a better trade engine, than I would add the G-League, the option to draft players from overseas, realistic contracts for coaches (Popovich or Kerr signed for different teams after the 1st season in 2K18). I also wanted an option not to see player's attributes and rating. That would force me into looking at their stats and it would make the whole scouting thing a bit more exciting and unpredictable.

I think i'm the only one who plays 2k just to play with AIs. No my career, my league, my gm, and no other stuffs. Sometimes i play against my brother, but mostly i just play against AI to get the most realistic experience. But sadly, Ai still dumb as fuck

My issue with 2k is definitely the VC. When jt was introduced in NBA 2k13 I thought it was fine because it wasn't pay to win and everything could be earned without an unrealistic grind (I was 99 overall). However, things quickly got worse as each year the game quality lowered while VC was more pervasive in the game to the point where I'm going to skip my career now because there's no point unless you pay real money (I skipped NBA 2k18 because It was a bad game). The first 2k I played was 2k4 on the GameCube but I really got into it with 2k10 on the ps3.

I’m not gonna buy it right away. From what I noticed, people don’t complain as much about the game when it just comes out. If there is shit in the game, It’s usually a month or two before people start complaining about or at least until those complaints reach me. I’ll come back in a few months to see if I should buy it

So based off of the mycareer story, seems fun and scoring looks to be easier or is that just in the prelude? I don't want to be all of a sudden dropped in skill and forced to buy VC. I only play MyCareer so is it worth buying just for that or is the grind for VC just too much even in MyCareer?

I started playing with 2K16 and every year there has been a 0.5 second delay when I play online because of 2K’s trash servers and it has yet to be fixed, which is annoying for when I need to time my shots and layups and even defense is difficult

My big thing about 2K mycareer is that the it doesn't change. Its a small movie your watching and no matter how good or bad you play your automatically in the NBA and being called the next big thing. They should have a story were i am not watch a full out cutscene dieing of boredom, but a story where i can interact and make different choice and the choice i make actually matter and effect my game. So no two story are exactly the same and they way we got to the NBA is all different and unique. That would make a killing!! If that was a thing I'd love going on YouTube and see everyone different storyline and progress to the NBA. PLUS when you are finially in the NBA and after your first session is done dont just end the story there. 2K does that so much it's annoeyin and very boring. The story needs to end when you final get 99 overall, made it into the Hall of Fame or you retire! And get rid of VC being able to level your character from 60-88 as soon as you start, no more pay to win. If your going to play the game play it right! Start it from the bottom now your here!! Also my huge problem i have been having since 2K18 is that they took out rookie for mycareer. I am sorry I am very busy with things and dont have the time nor do i want to put in the time to learn all these special moves and work crazy hard to win a game or two. I just want to come home from a long day sit and relax play some easy 2K. I want a choice to choose when I feel like playing pro, legend, or rookie. Not being forced to play on a hard difficulty. They need to bring back rookie for casual players!!

There's really only one problem with your wishlist. That would take so long to develop that gameplay, I can guarantee, will be an issue

First 2K was 2K15 like a month before 2K18 came out. Just got hooked on the NBA and I needed a cheap basketball game to hold me over until 2K18 came out. I was not disappointed with my purchase and even occasionally go back to 2K15 for its pretty nice MyGM mode

I have both games and to me the shooting in NBA Live is better than 2k's, the shoot meter is a little off in 2k!

I am a 2k guy but I wish you could get to like an 80+ without buying Vc because in nba live you can get to like an 89+ without buying Vc
Same with myteam, I don’t play myteam because its pay to win 2k needs to fix there Vc stuff and be like nba live with no pay to win

I've been playing NBA 2k since Dreamcast as well as NBA live since Sega Genesis. The problem I have with 2k is that they forgot about the other modes like mygm, street court and franchise mode. It seems like they take away features and put them back in years later and call it "new". I think the developers are too comfortable and is too focused on sales instead of customer's satisfaction. Don't they realize customer's satisfaction = sales? And majority of us are not satisfied but have little to no choice than to buy the game.
