You know what it's like when you want to look perfect, or be the perfect host, or maybe be the perfect partner.

But imagine trying to be perfect all your life, even from infancy when you felt that unless you were the good baby, the quiet child, the obedient one that you wouldn't and couldn't be loved!
That pressure puts a massive burden on your shoulders - a ball and chain around your ankles, because it's impossible to be perfect and keep it up. You end up defeating yourself, feeling bad and worthless only to suffer in relationships as a result.
This is what happened to Ian, in my book: Ian: From Feeling Unwanted to Wanting to Feel. Trapped by the burden of being perfect.

He was trapped by his belief that unless he was perfect he didn't deserve love so he didn't get it. But working on himself when his marriage was threatened he learned how to accept himself. Learn how.
