On Today's Episode:

Paralyzed by self-doubt, struggling to get started, chronically procrastinating, and lacking energy for the day are all problems that point to motivation. What is that you want for yourself and the world you live in? What thoughts, good or bad, dictate your actions or lack of actions every morning?

Jim Kwik’s mission is that no brain is left behind. He’s one of the world's leading experts on how to train the brain and accelerate learning. The bestselling author of the book Limitless is the brain coach A-list celebrities and thought leaders call for help. His traumatic brain injury as a child turned into a gift for the world as he teaches how to do bigger and greater things.

In this special episode Jim reveals his 3 part formula for sustainable motivation and why motivation is a major factor in accomplishing everything you want to go after. While others insist that motivation is BS, Jim insists that it’s a major factor alongside Mindset and Methods.

QUOTES:

“When you have a finite amount of energy and wherewithal and vitality or bandwidth, you don’t say yes to a lot of things.”

“Genius leaves clues.”

“I’m not looking for perfection because I don’t think that standard exists, I’m just looking to make incremental progress.”

“It’s not about truth, it’s about what we decide in that moment that’s either going to empower us to move forward or make us shrink.”

“I believe that limitless isn’t about being perfect. I believe the idea of limitless is that we can progress and advance beyond what we currently believe is possible in ourselves.”

“Your mind is always eavesdropping on your self-talk.”

“Some of the most successful people live at the edge of their limits and they play there as well.”

“The truth is we’re faster and smarter than we know.”

It's a very good idea if people get to setup some stuffs aside for themselves that could be bringing them money apart from there businesses.

In the last 2 years, I have run my first marathon, run about 1500 km (932 mi) in a year, and been learning intensively a new language.

I think the image in your mind about you is crucial. The question "Who am I actually?".

More than earlier, I have started to see that as fun as lazying around, eating lots of sugar, going sleep whatever time you want, etc. might temporarily feel, the person, who is continously falling for shortcuts, is actually someone else, not me.

I paid $100, 000 of college tuition to essentially learn how to learn, when I could have simply watched this guy 😢😂

Already digging deep at 4 min mark. I totally relate. I absolutely hate what I’m doing for work atm. But the feeling of purpose - the why I do it is so strong that not only am I motivated to do it everyday but sometimes I even manage to trick myself into thinking that I enjoy it by just finding small parts of it that maybe I do actually enjoy 😂. Whatever works to achieve the goal.

Thank you Tom for bringing such great information and advice from people like Jim Kwik. If we take half of what he says we cannot be anything but more accomplished at what we seek to do.

After our minds get in our way, we all need to get out of our way.

I think self sabotage is not on purpose (usually), but based on bad beliefs that are hard for people to change, because they don’t understand they can change them. Or they’ve had them for so long that I feel like part of them selves. Sometimes they’re sabotaging themselves because they think they deserve it but it’s still based on the belief

The master from the far east was a man,
With calloused hands and a gentle plan,
He lived a humble life in a simple place,
With only the wind and the sun on his face.

His teachings were not just about the mind,
But also about the heart and being kind,
He helped people find their inner voice,
And gave them the courage to make a choice.

His students came from all around,
Each with a story and its own unique sound,
He listened with an open ear,
And taught them to let go of fear.

He showed them how to be still,
To feel the earth and its natural thrill,
To connect with the world around,
And find peace in the simple sound.

The master was a teacher, friend, and guide,
With nothing to hide and nothing to divide,
He taught them about the power of love,
And the beauty of the world above.

The master from the far east was a man,
A human with a humble plan,
To help others find their own inner peace,
And live life with kindness and ease.

When you discussed games relating to your efforts in the real world it reminded me of "Ender's Game"

Tom, you are truly an inspiration. You are also too smart not to pass on your genes and have a kid or two. Just my humble opinion.
