I was a care giver . For my uncle who was a retired Lt. COL. I took care of my 6'5 uncle who was totally vegetable after suffering from concussion blast from the IED that killed everyone in his Humvee but him.

The VA gave him a small bed. The VA for 8 years couldn't find anyone to help my aunt on the weekends. He had the same 3 caregivers from the VA. Me and 2 other nurses.

Sad to think a man who was at JFK for 16 years and the pentagon for 6 would be treated so poorly

As a vet who works for the VA. The VA has a lot of employees who only look at the VA as a job. There are maybe 10% of the employees who actually care about Veterans. The rest are just there for a paycheck.

holy wow, that really kicked me right in the gut. my heart just broke for this poor man, there are no words. it is just despicable & disgusting how we treat our vets, inexcusable. they deserve whatever they need immediately. thank you sir for your service🇺🇸

This has been the problem with the VA for decades - not just in mental health care but in every area of health care. Not only is this unreasonably cruel but it is costing thousands of lives each year. The lawmakers should be required to use the VA.

Me and a VA therapist got in a verbal argument in the middle of a session. He called me a liar about drugs i 2as using. 2 days later "i don't know if he was forced to or realized what he did was messed up " called me back and apologized. That was the last time I went for mental help. I'm 100% TP

And this is one of many reasons why military recruitment is at an all time low. Nobody wants to lay their lives on the line for a system that doesn't care about you.

Army veteran here. My own experience was being forced out of a VA doctors office when I was crying over my addiction and mental health. They were SO NEGATIVE!! They could care less about US!!! 🇺🇸 😢

Unfortunately the VA has a reputation of being slow, difficult if not impossible to deal with and the pure BS they put you through will make the most patient person lose their selfcontrol. My Dad, husband, and 2 sons either have used, are using or will use the VA in the future and it definitely got better under President Trump, but there is much more work to do.

VA in Tampa misdiagnosed my husband for 6 months. Five visits to his primary VA doctor and the VA emergency room. He is now battling stage 4 Lymphoma after going to a local ER when the pain was so intense. He was told by the VA he had a pulled muscle, they gave him Tylenol and told him to go to the gym to work out a "muscle strain".

As a Disabled Veteran who has be in the system since 1975 it takes years to get care you need, for the side effects of the original disability. But you have to keep fighting you earned it remember that.

The VA is horrible, from the people who answer the phones to the doctors (if you can find one). My husband hasn’t had a doctor in 7 months, he only has a nurse practitioner who can’t change his medication that isn’t helping him & won’t send him outside of the va. I’ve tried to call patient advocate & was hung up on by the secretary after asking to speak to a supervisor. The entire system is horrible & im ashamed as an American that this is the best we can offer for our veterans. It’s disgusting

The way we treat our veterans is awful. We need to do better and the last administration made it a point to show respect and honor to these men and women. We need that back!

I've been seeing the same psychiatrist for 2 years but everytime I see her it's as if I'm seeing her for the first time, she doesn't remember anything I've told her in the past. Don't get me started on my disability appeal, I've been waiting 6 years, and still no answer.
