Just need to make sure people ACTUALLY understand the difference between Kilowatt and KilowattHour.
The sheer amount of journalists who got it wrong when trying to inform the public about EVs or complain about EVs was staggering

Boy i'm glad it explained to electricians,

What is a Kilowatt Hour? About £60 after the price cap comes off 😬

Thank you for pronouncing Wago correctly ❤️

I don't think using kWh is anything to do with creating small numbers on energy bills.
The derived SI unit of MJs (mega-Joule-second) would accomplish that.
No, it's just about connecting the rating of an appliance with the cost of using it, in a straightforward way that the average punter can grasp.

Good thing too, otherwise it would be like all that BTU, Calorific Value, cubic metre nonsense the gas-bods have to deal with.

So you can guarantee at some point some Herbert is going to want to change over to joules just so they can hide price hikes better, the same way they did when they went from gallons to litres of petrol.

1, 000 watts for one hour, or 100 watts for 10 hours or 10 watts (large radio) for 100 hours.
all the exact same cost in money. However, we do expect to go to Time of Day usage billing at some point in time. Thoughts please. Thank you.

Today I learned it is pronounced "Waa-Go" rather than "way-go" like I have been saying for ages...

2:15 - you haven't really answered the question of why we (as a society / industry) don't use the correct SI unit for energy (J) with an appropriate SI prefix. 7MJ surely isn't that different to 2kWh? And is better than 2000Wh which would be the alternative without a scaling factor.

And when everybody has got a smart meter they’ll change to Kva measurement, and with the LED’s and their poor power factors, watch the electricity bills rise then 🤷‍♂️🙄

it's amazing how many people cant get the gist between kilowatt and kilowatt hour .. and don't get me started on apparent power :) it wouldn't surprise me if all these new smart meters have an algorithm built in for when the surge of EV's kick in so they can start charging apparent power.. good video Joe

1:53 - "half a kilowatt hour for four hours" is spectacularly unhelpful language for this video! I know it's just a slip of the tongue, and I wouldn't normally mention it, but when 1) your video's shorter than three minutes, and the 2) whole point is to clarify these terms, it seems a bit silly not to have corrected this.

Yes it's about time we get charged only for every 2 K/wh's . They're only getting fatter
