Thanks for the info.

Average density of ship is less than the density of water, that's why it floats on water.

Also, the magnitude of buoyancy is equal to the water displaced by the ship, and the weight of the displaced water is equal to that of the ship's weight which in turn, negates the weight of the ship that is pulling it downward due to gravity, creating an equilibrium.

What about the shape of the bottom of the ship? If the ships bottom was shaped like a knife, it would sink. The wide shape of the bottom of the shape gives the water more surface area to push the ship up.
