From packing cubes to the humble Ziploc bag, there are a ton of ways to pack your clothing for travel that will save space and keep you organized. We still don’t have the answer to the great packing debate about whether it’s better to fold or roll your clothes. But we can tell you that folding is faster while rolling makes your clothes more compact (meaning you can pack more). If you’re trying to avoid wrinkles, try bundle rolls or garment folders.

Do you roll or fold your clothes when packing? 🤔🤔

In lockdown and watching travel-orientated videos for the torture value.

I’m a flight attendant and I one bag carry when not working. I roll my clothes and I swear by compression packing cubes. I love the organization and the space saving features. You get a lot more space for the buck with them. Just know that the more stuff you bring, the more weight you deal with. I go with neutral’ish clothing to mix and match different articles to stretch out outfits over longer trips. Multiuse articles are also a gain changer.

I lean/lay against the wall with my plastic compression sacks - easy to get the air out that way. The 1 gallon Ziploc bags also work well for socks. Just know that your bag will be extra dense using these. While they compress the space - they don't reduce the weight. A challenge for budget airlines.

As a diehard one-bag traveler, I love your tips and videos! It would be great to see a video on how to pack light for two totally different locations in one trip. I'm planning an Everest Base Camp trek with a stopover in steamy Singapore for next year. Yikes! A lot of stuff for one small bag. I'm still working on it... ☺️

I *have* to try the zip locks as packing cubes! It seems like the best money-saving alternative!

I will add in on your tips. I bring black and grey climbing pants and then buy primary coloured shirts or shirts with a little pattern. Goes with any pants but adds a little colour.

Great tips! Huge fan of packing cubes. I tell everyone to use them and often give them as gifts! I also tell everyone who will listen to PACK LIGHT!

Put a dryer sheet in with your clothes in space bags to keep them smelling fresh.

Be aware that if you are traveling to Africa, a number of countries (like Kenya and Tanzania) have outlawed plastic bags, including ziplock plastic bags. Occasionally some checkpoints will let you through with ziplock bags if they believe you will not be leaving them in the country. However, you can’t really count on that and the fines are fairly hefty.

Flying to my cousin's wedding in October, and I FINALLY was able to get some packing cubes for myself. I'm so excited because I plan on only using my backpack as a suitcase, so the packing cubes will be super helpful.

I prefer rolling clothes, especially tops that wrinkle easily, maybe it's just the way I ranger roll so I don't get much wrinkles, and a proper packing cube can prevent it getting more wrinkly. If you smoothen your shirts before a tight ranger roll you can even reduce the wrinkles if you have to put them in a vacuum bag. I would fold trousers flat, and socks I would put one in the other and then flatten it, like how you got it when you first bought it, I see rolling and making it into a ball takes up more space in my packing cube than just laying them flat. Even if I fill them in shoes, flat way still makes it easier to fit and I can fit more in the same space.

You mostly show how to pack cloths for summer holidays on this channel. But how do you handle packing for trips that include an evening event? Is there also a smart solution to pack a suit?

the greatest pro tip is to go somewhere with good weather and not that conservative with attire :P for ladies that means more tank tops, shorts, lightweight dresses. more loose clothing that compresses super easily
