How to Pack Clothes for Traveling 👕💼

When traveling, it's important to pack efficiently, be organized, and be smart. This video demonstrates a method to roll your clothing into a tight bundle, making it compact and easy to transport. Rolling your clothes is a great way to prevent wrinkles and conserve space. When you roll clothing, you can fit more than you can normally by folding or just placing clothes into your luggage bag. You can also apply this technique to tasks beyond traveling, such as relocating clothing and aiming to save space. You can use the same method for other clothing I did not demonstrate, such as shorts. Roll them in the same manner as the pants were rolled. Roll up small items like socks and underwear inside a T-shirt, placing them on top of the shirt.

The clothes rolling technique may seem like it takes longer than simply folding the clothes, but if you do it more, you will become more proficient and see that it really doesn't take much longer and produces better results.

Clothing Traveling Tips: Some simple tips to help you pick suitable clothing for traveling.

#1: When choosing your clothing for a trip, look at each item’s fabric and consider the following factors: quality, thickness, weight, wrinkles, transparency, and texture. Ideal travel clothing is durable, takes up minimal space and weight, is wrinkle-free, opaque, and matches the rest of your clothing in style and fit.

#2: Be aware of your color palette when selecting clothing. If your color palettes are cross-compatible, you will have many outfits from less clothing.

#3: Most places you go will have much of what you need. You can buy almost anything anywhere in the world. So you can get away with only packing half of what you think you’ll need.

#4: Versatile, low-maintenance clothing is essential when packing light. Consider five factors that make an article of clothing desirable when traveling and aim to have each piece you bring satisfy at least 3 of them.
- Comfortable for touring around, but can be dressed up for the evening
- Is appropriate for cool or warm weather
- Doesn’t show stains
- Folds up small
- Coordinates well with almost everything else you’re bringing
By doing this, you maximize the usage of each article of clothing so you can bring less.

#5: If you’re traveling longer than seven days, pack enough clothes for seven days, no matter how long. It’s easier to find a Laundromat once a week than carry the extra weight of more clothing than necessary.

#6: Avoid clothing that is too bulky and may take up too much space. Instead of a bulky jacket, bring a light jacket and dress in layers.

#7: A long-sleeved and a short-sleeve button shirt and some T-shirts will work well for most places you travel to.

#8: Roll your clothing efficiently to allow for more space. The method I demonstrate can save a lot of space and enable you to pack lighter.

Am I the only one who laid down to watch this and ended up delaying their packing to read the comments?

What I find to be the most efficient way of packing is to cut each piece of clothing into rectangles the size of your luggage, lay them down, and stack them up. Pack a needle and thread to sew them back together when you unpack. I can fit about 20 shirts, 10 pairs of pants, and 30 pairs of socks into a standard carry-on suitcase.

As a person who travels a lot for business, there's no way I'd fold clothes like that. It's space efficient, but it's way too time consuming - both the packing and the unpacking since you're going to have to iron everything. I just don't have time for it.

I'll try to remember to do that on the way back when I have my shopping to fit in
I do roll but never fold garments at the bottom like you've demonstrated
Thanks :)

another hack is to instead of using rubber bands use hair elastics so you don't have to bring a bag with hair elastics in it :)

We all have that chair, full of unfolded, clean+dirty cloths on.
When I travel I just take that chair and that's it, I save like 30 minutes 😂😂

I have never found that rolling clothes reduces their fact logically it doesn't the same amount of volume. I have found ironing and folding clothes is just as effective with the added advantage that my clothes stay heard people say that rolling them stops wrinkles but I've never found that to be true either. It may help you to pack if your using an unstructured & vertical pack like a Rucksack ( like the military do & probably where this came from ) but other than that it has no advantages. It seems to be a Anyone who wants to try a direct comparison will find that what I'm saying is true. I find that placing most of my socks & underwear between the two struts at the bottom of my rolling suitcase flattens that area & allows for ease of packing. I have found that not packing a towel or using a very light weight travel towel works. If your visiting a relative/friend/hotel use their towels a travel towel. I keep shoes to a minimum usually the ones I'm wearing & flip flops weight jackets are either worn or carried by hand....in summer I might pack them as summer clothes are lighter & usually take up less volume.
As for toiletries ..I usually pack a toothbrush, toothpaste & a bar of soap, deo & meds (YES !!!... I have washed my hair with a bar of soap & my underwear...It's no big deal !!!)....it will get you by in a pinch if the shops aren't open & if they are open you can buy them at your destination along with nail scissors & makeup for the ladies etc.etc....people get all bent out of shape about the TSA & toiletries...you'd think they were going to Mars not comments about Idaho please....be kind.

I tried folding this way but felt it wasn't tight enough. Ok, I see that I need rubber bands! Thanks for the suggestion. Let me refold my clothes again for my trip.
