Regarding comfort - don't do what I did, and pick The Climb as your very first VR game, and then try to play it while standing. I already don't do great with heights, got slightly motion-sick while climbing, accidentally flexed my hands, which of course let go of the cliff face and I plummeted. When I hit the ground, my legs basically turned to water, I had to rip the headset off and nearly vomited.

Second try was Walkabout Mini-Golf, which was easier to handle.

Started with Quest 2 and moved to Quest 3, and although I do enjoy playing games, I sometimes simply don't have the energy to do so. Yet, I find myself watching movies or TV programs w/ my headset pretty much everyday. Despite having a big screen in living and bed rooms, I still find myself enjoy laying down and watching on the Quest. (I use SkyBox VR to view, streaming from laptop.) So, if you are into watching movies or TV, I highly recommend the Quest 3.

Thanks for the videos, as always, Matteo! Keep up the great work!

Hey ho! Welcome all the new VR people that might/will be pouring in with the Quest 3S coming out now. This is a very cool channel to hang out, get info, and talk to nice people. It's gonna be a wild and amazing journey, and the VR community is very welcoming.

The tip about GETTING OUT when you feel off is a real good one. Ive been playing portal 2 in vr using a mod, but source is not meant for vr so it doesnt work the best. Gives me MAJOR motion sickness and im usually pretty resilient, i be doing that smooth turning smooth locomotion with no vignettes completely fine, but this one utterly kills me. Made my heart feel like it was under a lot of pressure. if i didnt take regular breaks idk how id be feeling.

I recommend picking up some knuckle straps so you can let gp of the controller while playing and it will not fall from your hands. It’s an inexpensive upgrade but makes a big difference. The fairly basic ones offered by Meta have the benefit of not covering the battery door and also work with their charging dock, but there are much cheaper versions out there.

Great vid. I wish you had talked about sharing and sanitation. It's the main thing holding me back. I'll do more research after all the info you gave, that helps me understand these products.

The great thing about the pico 4 is that in europe you can find it used for dirt cheap. I bought one for just 170€ + 20€ for a new cushion and I'm having a blast. The biggest con of this headset is that I can't play Asgard Wrath 2 or Batman but honestly there are so many vr game I want to play that I won't particularly miss them.

I totally agree with the Kiwi battery strap being way better. I originally had an official battery strap for my quest 2 that was horrible as compared to the kiwi brand at twice the cost. When I got my Quest 3 I ordered one as soon as Kiwi had them available. I have absolutely zero complaints.

If you get motion sickness, then seriously. Put cotton wool im one ear. It's exactly the way to combat seasickness

As a person who really just wants to play blade and sorcery or try our vr, the 3s was a no brainer. I got it through Amazon and they have payment plans as well.

I had the Oculus Rift back in 2016 (CV1 I think is what people called it) and was excited to play Adr1ft which had you floating around a space station. I played it several times, but twice I felt bad enough that I had to lay down and sleep off the effects. That was it for me and that headset. So I certainly know the effects of trying to use a joystick to move. I tried locomotion movement with Resident Evil 4 and quickly switched to the teleporting option because my head did not like that kind of movement.

Thanks for the tips! I’m hoping my head eventually gets used to the locomotion style, but the teleport option seems to work well for avoiding motion sickness. If you do start feeling a little off and have been teleporting quickly, just slow down how quickly you are teleporting and your head may go back to normal.
