Other questions I would like to ask my partner; any childhood trauma, take on mental health/ therapy, Family roles and expectations( what do you expect of your wife/husband and conclude on areas you think you cannot handle e.g cooking, cleaning, etc), Change of name, personal Dreams and aspirations, holidays and travels, who are you accountable to if we have issues that need external help, political ideologies oo, and the points you mentioned Among others.

11. Why do you love me?(is it because of my eyes or shape? Would you still love me if these things are gone?)
12.what will change when we start having kids?( Will you help me or stay be staying out late to avoid responsibility?)
13.Do you think we should have a joint account and individual accounts?( who is going to pay the house rent? Are we going to split bills?
14.How do we build intimacy with each other outside sex.

16.What are your sexual expectations?
17.How many children do you want to have?
18.If we’re going through rough times in our marriage, would you be open to seeking counseling? And who are you answerable to concerning anything in your life

I liked Claire before but now she’s my woman crush. She’s insightful and hilarious. This video is much needed now in this space because people are getting married for all the wrong reasons. A lot of people are scared to ask difficult questions because it could break up the relationship or kill the “vibe”. It’s better to do it now than get married only to divorce in few years.

I was in the class of those who loved aimlessly! But my faithful Father saw the naivety of His little girl and still blessed me with an amazing man!

However, watching this video, I cannot help but imagine how much easier and smoother our marriage journey would have been of we had conversations around these questions!

Also, married couples should regularly ask these questions as well, all relationships need to be constantly reviewed for growth and health checks. Plus, like you said, people change!

As a woman I think you should just discuss the name change thing too. Some men think it’s automatic but then some women these days are leaning away from it regardless and not really because they think it’s bad or anything like that. They have hinted the stress that comes with the whole name change process as one of the reasons. So it’s good to ask your partner, okay are you good with me keeping my name?

Generally, it’s safe to say in relationships ASSUME NOTHING ask EVERY POSSIBLE QUESTION it’s always better that way if you ask me.

Great video & questions. When it comes to questions, I tend to break them down into categories such as this ( physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, financial ). That helps me a lot. Another question that came to mind as I watched this amazing video was this: Do you go to church? What are your beliefs? We are living in a time where some believers feel the need that they can just sit at home, cross their legs and watch church from the comfort of their homes because after all God is everywhere and this can become an issue when children come into the picture. Also, what are your expectations of one another. For instance, one person may prioritize date nights and the other just want to be home chilling… How do feel about people coming over to our home? Do you prefer fresh food everyday? The discussion of chores and etc. I mean the truth is that one will not know everything about their partner but indeed their major things that need to be discussed before entering the marriage.
