I remember my first long ride. I caught a long rider in Oahu. Waikiki beach. I was 12-13 possibly? But it was. a spiritual experience for me ! I surfed for the very first time, at least first time standing up on a soft surf kayakboogie-thinga-ma-jig board(w/o fins) and rode for what seemed an eternity....at least a half a mile.... true that!
