Copycat Crumbl Chocolate Chip Cookies

I've been seeing Crumbl cookies alllll over social media and since I like kinda far away I wanted to try making them at home.
To quote my mom "I've been around awhile and have tried my fair share of chocolate chip cookies and I have to say that these are some of the best ones I've ever had." Wow! I agree, they are soft and tender on the inside and have a beautiful brown crispy bottom. A must-try for sure!
Have you heard of Crumbl cookies?

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups butter softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 tbsp vanilla
4 1/4 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 cups guittard milk chocolate chips (I used half dark chocolate chunks)

The reason this is better than Crumbl cookies is because it’s actually baked all the way through.

375 till done

Chilling the dough of any drop cookie for at least 24 hours adds so much to the texture. Much chewier, with a crispier, more carmelized outside.

They use corn starch as well. I have a friend who works at their batch plant and makes the ingredient mix for the stores.

Ingredients:

-A cup and a half of butter (softened) (I like it melted, but do whatever you prefer!)
-3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 of brown sugar
-2 eggs
-Tablespoon and a half of vanilla
-4 1/4 cups of all purpose flour
-2 tsp. baking soda
-1 tsp. baking powder
-1 tsp. salt
-2 cups milk chocolate chips (or dark chocolate)

Recipe:

-Cream together a cup and a half of softened butter
-Add in 3/4 cup granulated sugar
-Add in a cup and a half of brown sugar
-Mix
-Add in 2 eggs
-Add in tablespoon and a half of vanilla
-Mix again until creamy and light in color
-Add in four and a quarter cups of all purpose flour
-Add in 2 tsp. baking soda
-Add in 1 tsp. of baking powder
-Add in 1 tsp. of salt
-Stir until everything is combined
-Get your preferred 2 cups of chocolate chips (milk or dark, etc.) and also add that in
-Stir until combined
-Lay them out onto a baking sheet (1/2 a cup of dough per cookie)
-Put them in the oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190.56 degrees Celsius)
-Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown
-Let cool for about 15 minutes when taken out of the oven

You need to add 1 and 1/2 tsp. Of corn starch —this is a signature ingredient that makes them soft.

Baking hack: add a package of vanilla pudding mix directly into the dry ingredients (NOT actual pudding; just the dry mix). You will not regret it.

In my opinion, Crumbl cookies are overrated overpriced undercooked cookies. While I do love their creativity, I don't think I have had one that was worth getting a 2nd time. To be fair, we love to bake cookies in our house and my sis has spent 20+ years testing and perfecting different cookies, brownies, etc, So I'm sure Crumbl cookies are amazing to someone who doesn't bake at all/often or buys Chips Ahoy! cookies.

If you feel like being fancy and wait a little mix in some expresso powder, and then let it sit in your fridge overnight then bake

I made these but used brown butter and whittakers chocolate roughly chopped...delicious! Also sprinkled some salt on the top once they came out the oven-we only had wholemeal flour on hand, and they were still yummy

Melted butter would be improvement if you like crispy on the outside chewy on the inside

I would brown butter and add a table spoon of espresso powder. And moooore chocolate chips
