Great advice. Also the air canister may have pin holes or even rusted sections not clearly visible so do spray the canister as well.

I think this is a good video but if you're going to use something flammable you should start by saying you need to have a fire extinguisher on hand and this is best done before the engine gets to operating temp using short sprays not saturation. Otherwise do this test with propane and extension hose

Won't carb cleaner damage plastic and rubber?

Excellent quick demonstration of what vacuum lines are & where they are located. What is the typical inner diameter of replacement vacuum hose? I have a 00mazda B2500se 2.5L vacuum leak is suspect.

You should mention that if you are to use flammable liquids to test vacuum leaks, which is a 100 percent viable way of finding a leak, that you should never do it when your car is warm or near areas where spark is created. You should also always have a fire extinguisher or a garden hose handy just in case. If not, have fun possibly catching your entire engine on fire.

i have a 95 lexus v8 sc400. I see smoke coming from the thick hoses towards the rear of the intake and close to the firewall. the hose clamps also look burnt and smell. I have rough idle, and the rpm goes in the wrong direction when i rev the car. The exhaust has sputtering sound. Does this sound like vacuum leak ?

A tad of silicone grease on the vacuum tubing would not be a bad idea.

What about sources of ignition ? You spray a flammable liquid in the engine bay - one spark and you could have a fire.

No mention of cleaner being flammable. I would have burned my eye brows off already if it wasn't for other videos on here.
