Leaders' Debate: Singh tells Bernier he shouldn't be welcomed on debate stage

Standing on stage together at the federal leaders’ debate on Monday evening, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh told People’s Party of Canada Leader Maxime Bernier that he shouldn’t be there at all.

During a back-and-forth in response to a question about Bill 21, Quebec’s legislation that bans some public servants from wearing religious symbols, Bernier brought up Singh’s opposition to him being among the six leaders allowed to participate in the English-language debate.

I voted PPC last night. I'm Acadian with M'iqmaq heritage. I'm tired of Singh standing on the graves of my dead cousins. I'm tired of him trying to use my father to spit on my mother. He doesn't represent me or my values. A voice contrary to his own is valid and worth having a platform. My thanks goes out to Mr. Bernier for giving us old stock Canadians a voice.

For Bernier's passion to risk his life, his reputation and career and went to jail and says he is willing to again to go to jail on behalf of the freedom of the people in Canada, shows great leadership qualities. Actions speaks loud.
