How can you trust a roofer to tell you whether it's time to get your roof done, when that's how he makes money. One nail pop and it's time to have your roof replaced.

Thank you!! For explaining the difference in what IS covered (weather, hail, wind) on an insurance policy and what is NOT covered (age, wear and tear, bad install). There is BAD info from roofers out there, which aids to insurance rates improperly inflating. Thanks!

When I build my house 23 years ago, I have a choice of three qualities of roofing shingle. They were presented to me as 20 year 30 year and 40 year I choose the forty year one. Looking at it I can’t see any defects I’ve had, and I’ve had no leaks.

Do videos on bad tile roofs. Shingle roofs are so commonly damaged and ready for a replacement but tile roofs can look fine and dandy but be in the same condition as shingle roofs.

WTH! That roof is hideous! My roof is a 3 tab Owens Corning which is 30 years old. It lived through multiple hurricanes and a rare tornado here in NY and it looks amazing. It has lost it's vibrance due to some granular loss (no black showing) but that's it. My neighbors had a GAF architectural shingle installed a couple yeas ago and that thing is hideous too. Looks like the shingles lost granular and its full of black mold! lol....still shopping around for contractors and a likely going to avoid GAF at a cost. Note on why mine may have last as long. I installed a gable fan in the existing vents. I really believe the soffit/gable vent system with fan is superior over the popular ridge vent/soffit they do now.

My roof is about 20yrs old (2 story house) and i have a silver truck that when parked in driveway after a rain my truck is completely covered in the grit from shingles, this has been going on a while and gutters are full of grit ... i think it's time for a new roof

We bought a home which had the roof replaced in 2018. We recently had a hail storm and insurance gave us money to replace the roof. It doesn’t seem that bad and was considering putting it in a 5 percent cd. Would that be a huge mistake? I’m wondering if the cost of a new roof on subsequent years would outweigh the cd with 5 percent annually for three years. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Out of curiosity, do you have a video on how much ventilation a roof needs? The windows installers I had are blaming the high humidity on the attic, which may not be properly ventilated.
