I love how a film can bring promote classical music. Or even introduce it to people unfamiliar with it.

Sailing on into the endless sea. The ending gives me chills. These men were incredibly brave and tough.

-Yes

I live in Madrid...it is the best you can hear in spring and summer nights. You feel Boccherini smiles near you somewhere in the dark.

Such a shame that we didn't get at least one more film taken from the series. The assembled cast were brilliant and we could have had more Boccherini and Mozart! Such a gem.

One of my all time favourite movies. One of my all time favourite soundtracks.

A shame that they never made a sequel. This movie came out a few months after the first Pirates of the Caribbean and nobody remembers this movie which is a tragedy because while the Pirates movies are great, they simply do not compare to the gem that is Master and Commander.

Can we all just appreciate for a moment that the photo they chose for the album has A MODERN BOAT moored next to the Surprise?

It is so amazing to me, that these beautiful classics never die. Like the inspired word from above, they keen the emotions, move the mind, recall memories and take us to places we cannot physically go. They stand alone coming from the speakers or for a back drop for a film. Hail Boccherini and all who wrought the music that takes us to another place and another time.

Wow, the Italian composers are masters. They are incredible with violins and every classical instrument really, in such a way that makes souls fly.
