i love doing bagwork. i usually hit the bag for 15 minutes. every 3 minutes, i will do a set of push ups and squats then go back to hitting the bag. great combat supplementary cardio.

I can confirm everything you said. The best training for me is lifting weights / calistenics, running in the woods and hitting the bag 3 or 4 times a week. Im now 45 years of age and quiet fit. I trained martial arts as a young men for quiet some time. It was kind of "streetfighting" back in the 90s. We mixed all together. Boxing, Kickboxing, Wing Tsun, wrestling, judo, escrima. lol Was fun. Now I live in a small village and even hitting the bag a few times a week keeps me sharp and increases my self defens skills compared to just doing weight lifting and running.
Greetings to Canada!

I agree that bagwork is really good, but in terms of developing cardio, i think running is the most effective. You might be able to say "i had a hard session on the heavy bag" but how hard was it really? When you're running, you've got the exact pace and stuff.
I feel like a ton of people just search for ways to avoid running, since they hate it. I mean it's their choice and running surely can be taxing on your joints, but it's damn effective.

I agree, bagwork is the best. I also love riding my bike and rollerblading for cardio

Trail running helps reduce impact and it's definitely more interesting then running on the tread. Some nice trails around Mont Royal!

Yes, especially if you add some drum and bass! Plus you're conditioning your shins, elbows etc.

I know Firas knows his shit. However I'm not sure hitting the bag is low impact. The stress over the shoulders is really big to be honest. It's a great cardio workout though.

Heavy Bags (wrecking ball bag and normal bag) x6 rounds
