How about learning other religions? There are:
Judaism (if you re a jew), christianity, islam, shinto, etc.
Every religion may offer very different concept of The Creator.

Since im a muslim, i can talk about islam
In islam we believe in allah. But its arabic word which means more or less: The Only One True Creator of all universes worthy to be worshiped. Since, there is no one word translation in english and many other languages, we muslims rather use the word allah.

Our core beliefs are coming from the quran. We believe that the quran is the true word of The Creator, because:
1) It doesnt have any contradiction. You can bring me any so-called contradiction you may think. But i can refute/debunk it for sure.
2) It hasnt changed for 1400 years. Millions of muslims all over the world have memorized the quran in arabic. When we gather (for hajj) we may know that we dont recite the different quran. It has 6236 verses (6348 verses if you count the verses number zero) in 114 chapters.
3) It doesnt contradict science (specially the tested ones). It even says:
a. Life comes from water.
b. The heaven and earth were joined together and being separated later.
c. The stars in their track (orbit).
All of those in this 1400 y.o book. So, it cant be any other than from The Creator of universe.
