Of course a procedure can be cancelled when the patient is high on any drug. But not because doctors judge them, but because the patient might die due to being already weaker and under the influence. At least in my country you can not cancel a procedure just because of regular drug abuse but only if the situation in that moment is too dangerous. It's called human rights.

I take all types of medications due to being extremely sick. And I've also had many surgeries because of being sick. I have to tell you about even the narcotics that i have to take because they have to keep me alive. That's their job. And if you die because you didn't tell them about anything then you have not only killed yourself but taken a bit of that Dr's soul with you. Because he will always feel like "IF I only had done this", or "I should've done that" it's discouraging to them when they could've saved you and they can't. Never lie to your Dr's ever. They're not your judge and jury. They're there to help not harm.

I don't do drugs but I've had a doctor treat me like a drug SEEKER! I still cry and it was traumatic. turns out it was my heart! 😢

Absolutely right. Some do not understand the risks of medication interactions. Dr K is not being judge mental. Even taking regular prescribed meds has high risks also. Did you know that if you take even 4 medications that they have sometimes even unknown interactions? Well if you take 8 regularly prescribed meds your interaction now is 100%. No one is saying to stop taking your medicine but all pharmacology is serious. I have to take meds that cause cancer and a variety now to just stay alive and I have always had to be very careful but now because I am a high risk patient I at least wanted to have my DNR in order, DPA for health decisions because as an earlier comment mentioned, it is true, every time we lost a patient it would take a piece of our heart. ❤

I think the most common lies is not telling a doctor that something is wrong cuz some doctors have different assumptions especially if they’ve met a lot of patients that lie about it then they are less likely to trust people’s concerns which lead to people that are dealing with stuff for a long time to lie about it cuz the doctor might think they are lying or are using Dr. Google
